Pictou County Roots for Youth is a non-profit organization that serves youth 16-24 of age to end their homelessness. We have an 8-bed youth homeless shelter (Roots House) located at 122 Stellar Street in Stellarton, Nova Scotia. The average young person resides at the Roots House between 2-3 months and on average receives connections to nine (9) services in the community that support youth clients in accessing and meeting their basic needs, and redirecting their life path in a safer, healthier, and more positive way. The Roots House also operates daily Drop-In sessions from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. - 8 p.m., which is open to local youth who need to access food, Wi-Fi, shower and laundry services, and one-on-one support from a staff/ representative. For any youth 16-24 of age who would benefit from this service, don't hesitate to drop-by the Roots House Youth Shelter, phone (902) 695.2775, or email staceyj@pcrootsforyouth.ca. |
