Pictou County Roots for Youth is a non-profit organization that serves youth 16-24 of age to end their homelessness. We have an 8-bed youth homeless shelter (Roots House) located at 603 East River Road in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. The average young person resides at the Roots House between 2-3 months and on average receives connections to nine (9) services in the community that support youth clients in accessing and meeting their basic needs, and redirecting their life path in a safer, healthier, and more positive way. The Roots House also operates daily Drop-In sessions from 4:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., which is open to local youth who need to access food, Wi-Fi, laundry services, and one-on-one support from a staff/ representative. For any youth 16-24 of age who would benefit from the above support, don't hesitate to drop-by the Roots House Youth Shelter, phone (902) 695.2775, or email admin@pcrootsforyouth.ca. |
