Pictou County Roots for Youth is a non-profit organization that serves youth 16-24 of age to end their homelessness. We have an 8-bed youth homeless shelter (Roots House) located at 603 East River Road in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia.

The average young person resides at the Roots House between 2-3 months and on average receives connections to nine (9) services in the community that support youth clients in accessing and meeting their basic needs, and redirecting their life path in a safer, healthier, and more positive way.

The Roots House also operates daily Drop-In sessions from 2:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., which is open to local youth who need to access food, Wi-Fi, laundry services, and one-on-one support from a staff/ representative.

For any youth 16-24 of age who would benefit from the above support, don't hesitate to drop-by the Roots House Youth Shelter, phone (902) 695.2775, or email staceyj@pcrootsforyouth.ca.

We acknowledge that the land that we live and work on, Mi'kma'ki, is the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship” which Mi'kmaq and Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) people first signed with the British Crown in 1725.
