Pictou County Roots for Youth is a not-for-profit organization that helps youth aged 16-24 to end their homelessness. We have a 8-bed youth homeless shelter located at 603 East River Rd. in New Glasgow.

The average young person stays with us between 2-3 months and receives connections to

9 services in our community that can help them get their lives back on track.

We also operate daily Drop In sessions from 4:30 pm - 8:00 pm open to ALL YOUTH of our community where youth can get a hot meal, go online, do laundry for free, and find a supportive adult to talk to.

If you're between the ages of 16-24 and need help, please come and visit us!

We acknowledge that the land that we live and work on, Mi'kma'ki, is the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship” which Mi'kmaq and Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) people first signed with the British Crown in 1725.
